This novel method for removing Static Discharge from reactors has been developed to keep chemical reactors which are subject to this phenomenon safe from pin hoes. Static has been dealt with in the past by using a conductive enamel layer below the chemically resistant coating. The problem with this is that the chemical coating is still subject to static discharge into the conductive coating which is not as chemically resistant and eventually fails. The new technique we use puts a coating of Metallic Gold on top of the enamel and the Gold which is both chemically. Resistant and very conductive drains the built-up charge away without a taking the enamel.
Because of our novel technology we are able in many cases able to make single fire repairs to accessories such as agitators, baffles, and dip pipes. This has been successfully done in many cases over the past five years. The method is proprietary and uses novel enamel technology which allows the repair to be as chemically resistant as the original coating. The technique is done at our facility and can be accomplished in a matter of a few days depending upon the damage to the individual part. We believe that this technology could also be used with induction heating as well.
This was in the past Patented by the author and may such reactors were coated with this product and are still in use today. The technique uses a ground coat enamel which is then coated with a composite coating layer which has embedded in its single crystal Silicon Dioxide fibers . This coating is as chemically resistant as the final cover coat which is put on top of the other two layers. The resultant enamel coating is between 60% and 1005 more resistant to impacts on the glass.
